Skin

2021

Foldable, wearable soft sculpture

Skin is a foldable, wearable soft sculpture composed of separate parts that can be attached to one another. Covered in black-and-white geometric patterns inspired by dazzle camouflage, the elements can be folded, unfolded and recombined through physical interaction, creating different shapes and configurations.

Originally developed for Participatory Playground, the sculpture invites physical interaction. It can be worn, carried and rearranged, shifting between an independent sculptural form and an extension of the body. Its contrasting patterns complicate the perception of its shape, particularly as it moves or folds.

Since its first presentation, Skin has appeared in different exhibitions and performative contexts. In Hope Is a Longing for the Not Yet (2026), the sculpture is handled and transformed by a performer, with its changing forms becoming part of the video's visual language.
